What's Wrong With Your Plumbing?

Your home's plumbing is important to you. If you are having issues with your current plumbing, then you want to have your home's problems addressed. Luckily, you don't have to be a plumber to figure out if there is something wrong with your water or pipes. If you have a plumbing emergency, don't hesitate to call your HVAC or plumbing service. Otherwise, you can use this guide to help you determine what is wrong with your plumbing so you can find relief and get the servicing your home needs.

Rusty or weird-colored water

Is the water coming out of the faucet rusty or oddly colored? What may be wrong with your plumbing is this: a water heater that is failing or needing to be cleaned. If your water heater is housing sediment, then the debris will get into your water supply, but only if the water tap is turned to hot. If the water is constantly discolored, then rusty, older pipes may be to blame. Your plumber will diagnose and treat what is causing your colored water situation.

Bubbly or cloudy water

Bubbly or cloudy water is most likely caused by air in your water line or possibly caused by the filtration system you use if you have hard water or use a water purifier. If the water is coming out bubbly, you'll notice the water won't stay that way long as the water settles down. However, if you taste chemicals or a metallic taste in your water, call your plumber or your city official to see if there is something about your water that should be tested.

Clanging pipes

Sometimes pipes clang while they are in use, particularly if they are older. If your pipes shake, make a clanging sound, or are sweating moisture, it may just be water pressure that is causing them to make the noise. However, if your clanging pipes also include lots of water leakage or you see rust on your pipes, then the older piping may need to be replaced. Your plumber can replace just the affected pipes or may recommend creating a new plumbing system for whole areas of your home that are affected, such as the bathroom, the laundry area, or even the basement plumbing.

You should never try to do plumbing projects on your own. Your plumber will assist you in keeping your home sound. When you have a great plumber, you know you have an expert you can trust your home's pipes to.
